Man in Agam Arrested After 8 Months Fugitive

Perpetrator R, 20, was arrested after molesting the victim, who was his girlfriend, in July 2022.

This man was arrested after being reported by the victim's family on September 5, 2023 for molesting and his underage child who is a vocational student.

"Perpetrator R had run away and had DPO status for approximately eight months," he said.

Previously, the victim admitted to her parents that she had been by the perpetrator three times since July 11, 2022, at around 6.30 pm in Lapau Ambacang, Jorong, Durian, Kapeh Nagari, North Tiku, Tanjung Mutiara District, Agam Regency until she became pregnant.

"The victim has given birth to a child because of the perpetrator's actions in January 2023," he explained.

Kasat Reskrim added that perpetrator R molested the victim when he was still the victim's boyfriend.

The victim admitted to the police that the perpetrator persuaded the victim with the lure of marrying her. However, until the victim was discovered to be pregnant by her parents around early August 2022, the perpetrator's sweet promise was not kept.

Because the perpetrator's sweet promise was not kept, the victim immediately reported to her parents that she was pregnant because of being by the perpetrator. So the victim's parents were angry and reported the incident to the police.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 76 D Jo Article 81 paragraph (2) Jo Article 76 E Jo Article 82 paragraph (1) Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection with a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years in prison. *uc/Ang
